Looks like I opened up a can of worms…Amazing how different people view the same thing so differently..I came to the forum confused and am still confused…most of the feed back is negative, but as someone said, it’s something I might have to get out of my system. If i do go it will be either Gujranwala or Islamabad..Gujranwala cause some family is there..Islamabad because of safety, cleanliness, more international, roads etc. Some brothers have shared their opinion based on Karachi, which is probably the worst place to be right now. I did not find GUJ or Isl to be nearly as bad in terms of security etc. I thought the same way before actually visiting and seeing the people living their lives normally for the most part. In Guj and Islamabad many people told me they were not interested in going abroad as they were more interested in establishing themselves in Pakistan. My wife’s cousins are educated and have good jobs and never once asked me about USA; they actually encourage me to consider moving back.

I did get what you would call a “descent” job offer in Islamabad. I turned it down, but still have the option of taking it as it is quite a unique position which I know they will not be able to fill any time soon. Do you recommend I go visit Islamabad and this job site to get a feel of things?

Yup the can of worms buddy, didn’t you heard about gs ladies before? oh well..

1. Pakistan can be good or bad depends on the person precisely
2. Instead of looking for job better concentrate on setting up a business
3. Gujranwala is a great lively city, actually industry is pretty much booming their - have a look. plenty of opportunities
4. Its great of you turning down the decent job offer from ISB, i have couple of over half million a month lined up but they always landed in garbage can.
5. Schools are great & plenty of family activities around the corner.

By the way you started the thread at the wrong forum, this forum have over 90% of people living in abroad who never thought even in their dreams about living in Pakistan so harsh replies were expected because they also need to justify living in US (don’t kill me ladies)
