Sajid Ali - Greatest One-Day batsman of our times after Greenidge and Viv Richards?

Re: Sajid Ali - Greatest One-Day batsman of our times after Greenidge and Viv Richards?

fkhan :hehe: … but if you ignore the title of the thread, we all know how careers have been destroyed by PCB, captains in past.

Re: Sajid Ali - Greatest One-Day batsman of our times after Greenidge and Viv Richards?

captain bhai sara masla hee is title ka hay. The title was so appealing that i was forced to post something.
On a serious note,I agree 100% that PCB has been guilty of destroying the careers of countless talents in Pakistan and not only that but what about the treatment they give to the heroes who served with dedication for pakistan for years.

Re: Sajid Ali - Greatest One-Day batsman of our times after Greenidge and Viv Richards?

Re: Sajid Ali - Greatest One-Day batsman of our times after Greenidge and Viv Richard

No genius, that was the corollary…

Re: Sajid Ali - Greatest One-Day batsman of our times after Greenidge and Viv Richard

dumbass i was being sarcastic:smack2: . But then what can i expect from you who compare and rate sajid ali with richard and greenidge:p

Re: Sajid Ali - Greatest One-Day batsman of our times after Greenidge and Viv Richard

Numbnut, look up sarcasm in the dictionary first…and no I did not compare nor rate Sajid Ali in the same breadth as Greenidge and Richards…just lamented on what could have been, if he had the right connection…

And before you post again look up the meaning of whatever adjective you think would sound good phonetically and use in your response…

Re: Sajid Ali - Greatest One-Day batsman of our times after Greenidge and Viv Richard

OK shakespeare turned cricket lover, stop being such a gay and find a fourm on literature or poetry:D where you can have your dictionary in one hand and do what ever you want to with the other hand. This is cricketnama not english nama

Re: Sajid Ali - Greatest One-Day batsman of our times after Greenidge and Viv Richard

It would be nice if you could back up your claims with a bit of fact…
Aamer Sohail had a career ODI average of 32
Virender Sehwag has an agerage of 33
You think Sehwag is on the Indian team only because of politics?
32 is a very good average for an openor.

Re: Sajid Ali - Greatest One-Day batsman of our times after Greenidge and Viv Richard

Well…Aamir Sohail got into the team because of politics due to the fact that he was picked over a much more talented and once in a generation player like Saeed Anwar…Anwar made his international debut in '89 and did not play as a regular member till '94 tour of New Zealand…The five years he missed are a profound loss to not only Pakistan cricket, but also beyond…

And leave the futile exercise of comparing averages…because like Sidhu said, “like bikinis they reveal a lot but not the most important thing”…

Plus, Sehwag averages over 55 in tests…even Aamir Sohail have had a chance to bat twice per innings, he would not have managed that…

Re: Sajid Ali - Greatest One-Day batsman of our times after Greenidge and Viv Richards?

Domestic success doesnt necessarily translate into an international one. Sajid Ali was a talented player. He didnt take his chances. Too bad. Life goes on. Similar example was Surrey's Ally Brown. This guy has a double hundred in a 40 over game ( or 50) and has been the most consistent one day batsman on english domestic scene yet he couldnt make much of an impact on intrenational scene.

Re: Sajid Ali - Greatest One-Day batsman of our times after Greenidge and Viv Richards?

Big deal? Even Taufeeq Omar smashed Wasim Waqar and co for 174 odd not out in a practice match.

Re: Sajid Ali - Greatest One-Day batsman of our times after Greenidge and Viv Richard

no one is talking in this thread about test matches since the great sajid ali never played any test. Elahi compared sohail and sehwag in ODI. No disrespect to sehwag here since his performance is not the point of discussion here. Sehwag also has serious problems with his technique and it is likely that soon alot of bowlers will get to know how to get him out because of his poor foot work.
I don’t care about the politics involved in aamir sohail entry and exit from cricket but all i know is that he was a part of the most successful pakstan opening pair for which we are currently struggling.
