I have a question about Sajdah.
When reciting Quran there are certain Ayah’s where you have to make Sajdah. If I am sitting and reciting the Quran I should stop reciting and make the Sajdah than continue reciting Quran.
What if I am listening to Quran either online or in office or in car and if I have to make a Sajdah what should I do? Can I make the Sajdah later on or I have to do it right away? Also if you could please state the proper way to make a Sajdah?

from wat i know.. that it is better to do at there and then, but you can also do it after namaz

We do not need to make Sajdah if we are listening to a recording of an Ayah in which we have to make Sajdah but if the recitation is being broadcasted live (on tv or radio directly from Kabah or Masjid or what ever place as long as the Imam is reciting it live) than we should make Sajdah.
To make Sajdah simply say Allah Hu'akbar and go to Sajood, say Subhaana Rabi Al Ala 3 times or 5 times, get up and you are done with Sajdah.
Thats what I understood. I hope thats how it is.

iraj.. dun mind him… he is looking for a quranic reference like where in quran it is said to make sajdah on a particular ayah…
If you tell him it is taught by prophet:saw: just like pointing out each ayah was told by prophet:saw:, it will be a moot point to discuss because he does not believe in the authenticity of ahaadeeth so IGNORE

Surah Sajdah - Thats one place but there are other Ayah as well where you have to make the Sajdah. If you would like to know the other Ayah's as well let me know I will post the exact name of Ayah.

Folks.. question asked, answer given, all parties satisfied. I can already see how this thread can now easily be diverted to a repetitive discussion on ahadeeth etc. I suggest you all save your time for something more productive. But if you want to indulge in this (assuming you have free time and blood pressure to spare), pls go right ahead.

PA bhai here’s the recitation of Surah Sajdah. Please spare some time to listen to this and watch how the Imam and all other praying go for Sajood where the Quran states to do Sajood. The other good thing about this video is that it has the english translation as well so I think it will really help.

there r cases wehre u hear a live recitation and still not have to be doing sajdah....
while taking Quran lessons, our molvi saheb told us that we do not need to make sajdah every time we read the verse of sajdah if we r repeating it for memorizing it....
also, neither me nor the teacher nor the other students r required to make a sajdah when the teacher listens to the student....

While repeating the same ayaah in one sitting only require one sajdah as I have read references to it too, I never knew about the above quoted part. Any reference for that?
