As SAHIR LUDHYANVI is one of my Most Favourites.. :slight_smile: and… Saahir thought He was the BEST too…

Sahir was in his College days working for some Magazine in Govt College Ludhyana in India then For the first time he Read the Following Poem by… FAIZ AHMAD FAIZ…

And he was like… :eek: WOW… Who is that Poet in Lahore who can say something like this…

As per SAHIR’s very close Frend’s Statements… SAHIR was very Upset about it… :slight_smile:

MaiN tou samjha tha ke tou hay tou darakhshaaN hay Hayat
Tera gham hay tou ghame dehr ka jhagRa kia hay
Teri soorat se hay aalam maiN baharooN ko sabaat
Teri ankhooN ke siawa dunya maiN rakha kia hay?
Tou jo mil jaye tou taqdeer nigooN ho jaye
YooN na tha, maiN ne faqat chaha tha yooN ho jaye

Aur bhi dukh haiN zamanay maiN muhabat ke siawa
RaahataiN aur bhi haiN wasl ki raahat ke siwa

Anginat sadyooN ke tareek beheemaana talism
Resham-o-Atltas-o-Kimkhaab maiN bunwaye huye
Jaa baja biktay huye koocha-o-Bazaar maiN jism
Khaak maiN luthRay huye khoon maiN nehlaye huye

LaoT jaati hay udhar ko bhi nazar kia keejay
Ab bhi dilkash hay tera husn magar kia keejay

Aur bhi dukh haiN zamanay maiN muhabat ke siawa

Faiz is by far my favorite poet... and I like Sahir too... but like you stated, he was sometimes too full of himself - at least according my my dada abu who was a close acquaintance with Sahir.
