Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

Hi all,

Hope Ramdan is going fine for all of you.

I am surprised not to see a thread but khair better late than never

Saffies knicked first one dayer in an exciting encounter today through sheer brilliance of Justin Kemp (whom I am beginning to like more and more). They were almost down but he kept his head and let his willow yield preciuos runs.

Newzealand 249-8

SA 250-8 (49.3 overs)

I still expect New Zealand to win this series.

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

Go KIWIS!!!!!!!!!

I am sure Kiwis will strike back and win the ODI series, they might struggle in TESTS though.

South Africa has pretty good ODI team and it would be fun to watch VB tri series in Australia this year, SriLanka is the third team.

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

Dammit ..... when i got my dish adjusted the match was over ...... well wait for the next one ...... the next few months hold exciting ties ..... ind vs. sl + pak vs. eng + sa vs. nz + aus vs. wi ...... oh boy what a season is coming up ......

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

Add to this: India Vs South Africa and then tri series in Australia involving Australia, South Africa and Sri Lanka.

Competetive cricekt apart from Aus vs Windies.

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

Kemp was awesome. Selective power cricket. Afridi should learn from him, you can score at over a sr of 100, whilst still being selective.

Result aside, NZl are a excellent ODI team. They have this group of utility players, who create a sim greater then there parts. Its early days, but they are a sensible bet for the next WC.

Form watching like I do, if they sustain this performance in the next year, come Feb 07, insha-allah, I will have a flutter.

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

Damn saffies one again. And once again NZ lost when the game was theirs for the taking. Now I dont see them winning three games on a trot to win the series.

SA have won 11 consecutive matches. They are getting better. Players like Kemp made the difference IMO.

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

not impressed by either of these teams, boring cricket and NZ always finds new ways to lose

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

Its been a compelling series so far. 2 close matches.

2 good ODI sides.

How is watching Bond bowl boring?

He's the (2nd) best fast/seam bowler in the world. (After Glenn).

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

^ I dunno, guess I am spoilt by the standards set by the recent Ashes series :D

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

3rd ODI...

NZ 243/9 off 50.0 overs...

See if NZ could clinch a victory...hm mmmmmmmm

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

SA won by 4 wickets...and the series too...

SA - NZ 3-0

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

So NZ lost the series. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

^ :hehe:

Newzealand lost again because of Bond’s ineffective performance. He gives NZ edge but my oh my what a performance by Kemp, yet again. He is a true one day player and most of the 12 consecutive oneday victories were because of him. Awesome :k:

Whitewash?? Lets see!

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

You got it. I mean Bond econmy was over 7 in this match. When you strike bowler gives away that many freakin runs it next to impossible to win games. South Africa did have a better team but NZ would be dissapointed to go 3-0 down.

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

Even though South Africa performed really well, Smith hasn’t grown a bit. This is what he said about Black Caps coach John Bracewell.

“Bracewell is the slimy one. He is behind most of these schemes and I have no doubt he’ll have something like it planned for us again,” Smith said.

Is Smith’s mouth too big?

Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series

NZ 120/3 off 22 overs.
