I am surprised not to see a thread but khair better late than never
Saffies knicked first one dayer in an exciting encounter today through sheer brilliance of Justin Kemp (whom I am beginning to like more and more). They were almost down but he kept his head and let his willow yield preciuos runs.
Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series
Dammit ..... when i got my dish adjusted the match was over ...... well wait for the next one ...... the next few months hold exciting ties ..... ind vs. sl + pak vs. eng + sa vs. nz + aus vs. wi ...... oh boy what a season is coming up ......
Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series
Kemp was awesome. Selective power cricket. Afridi should learn from him, you can score at over a sr of 100, whilst still being selective.
Result aside, NZl are a excellent ODI team. They have this group of utility players, who create a sim greater then there parts. Its early days, but they are a sensible bet for the next WC.
Form watching like I do, if they sustain this performance in the next year, come Feb 07, insha-allah, I will have a flutter.
Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series
Damn saffies one again. And once again NZ lost when the game was theirs for the taking. Now I dont see them winning three games on a trot to win the series.
SA have won 11 consecutive matches. They are getting better. Players like Kemp made the difference IMO.

^
Newzealand lost again because of Bond’s ineffective performance. He gives NZ edge but my oh my what a performance by Kemp, yet again. He is a true one day player and most of the 12 consecutive oneday victories were because of him. Awesome :k:
Re: Saffies v Black Caps - one day and test series
You got it. I mean Bond econmy was over 7 in this match. When you strike bowler gives away that many freakin runs it next to impossible to win games. South Africa did have a better team but NZ would be dissapointed to go 3-0 down.
