Safety

With all the crazy news and shor-sharaba on TV, what is the recent state of affairs for Pakistan? Any advice regarding proper outfit/jewelry issues out in public?

I know…use common sense, but is it just safer to send jewelry back aboard after shaadi, or is it relatively safe to be a dressed-up bride when going out for dinner etc… I keep hearing…don’t wear gold…jeans…so I’m confused!

Main cities…Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi…

Re: Safety

well you can be dressed up but wear artificial jewelery?

Re: Safety

I've been wondering that too. But people wouldn't know if your jewelry's artificial or fake. Does wearing jewelry/nice clothes/nice car make you a target for muggings, etc??

Re: Safety

Alot depends on where you go, who you go with, and when you go hun. Makes a world of difference when you have an entourage of guys with you. My cousins is engaged in Lahore currently and most of her girlfriends are engaged or married. Some of these dulhans have been some GS favorites ....they married into very wealthy families and were able to wear those designer clothing and were dripping in jewels. From what I see in their pics, these married girls still dress very lavishly and wear alot of jewelery when they go out and about for functions.

But for everyday... they look like any other group of girls. They often wear jeans and tops and get dinner/lunch, and go shopping together without guys. But this is in only certain parts of Lahore where one can get away with this.
