i might be traveling to India for work. Is it safe ? I read somewhere that getting a visa can take up to 2 months ? Also, Pakistani born visitors have special restriction/s including which cities they can travel to and also reporting to the police station.
Also heard that if you have an Indian visa on your passport, you might have issues entering Pakistan ?!
i am contemplating if it is a good idea to visit or not ?
Any thoughts from guppies who have are US Citizens (born in Pakistan) and have traveled to India ?
Re: Safe to travel to India as a Pakistani (US Citizen) ?
yes, it takes a long time to get a an Indian visit visa for anyone whose parents or grand parents were ever citizens of Pakistan. a visitor can get visa for ONLY 2 cities [including the city of arrival and departure]. you are also required to report to local police of your movements in and out of any of those 2 cities that you have visa for. you also have to report within 24 hours of arrival and departure.
you also need a sponsor from someone in India.
it's safe to travel in India. your stay should be hassle free as long as you follow their instructions.
