Saeed keen to serve Pak cricket as coach
"KARACHI: Former Test captain and opener Saeed Anwar said on Friday that he is keen to remain in contact with Pakistan cricket and if there will be any good offer from PCB he will be seriously considering it.
He said that if any offer of coaching or similar position was made to him he will accept the same. He, however, clarified that was not interested to join electronic media as expert or commentator like Wasim Akram.
“I think there is much cricket left in me and I want to serve my country with my experience.” Saeed, a veteran of more than 56 Tests and 240 one-days said that he could help the youngsters a lot. “I will definitely not waste myself by keeping away from the sport through which I gained a lot in my career.”
To a query about team performance Saeed Anwar said: “The young boys are doing quite impressive job and with the passage of time the team will surely be converted into a winning combination.”
The legendary left-handed opener said that as the new lot is not experienced enough and does not get proper exposure as yet but they are talented and capable of doing well in near future.
He hoped that in two to three years the team will improve a lot and will be among the very best teams of the world.
Saeed said that some of the senior players, if in form, should be accommodated in the national team.
