IMO the candidates for breaking this record are Gayle,Sehwag,Dilshan,Warner,Imran Nazir....n thats too if these guys play sensible n till the end ......if will take hell of a effort to break this one
oh please, this guy doesn’t have any temprament, all he does is slash hard at every ball. He can score faster 50 at best, going beyond 100 can be only when he is playing against blind-cricketers.

Yeah, against Zimbabwe, probably he could, if they start dropping catches like Pakistani fielders, may be we should organize a 7-ODI series against Zimbabwe or Netherlands in Sharjah (dead-pitches) to recover this record :D

He has now been in the game for over 20 years. He did it not against minnows but a top side and the best fast bowler today. And for years he has looked the most likely to do it. But above all was the simplicity with which he greeted his feat: arms raised, a smile, and a peek up to the great beyond. No leaps, no fist-punches or extravagance, only humility. It has been the leitmotif of one of sport’s greatest, most significant careers, for the most remarkable thing about Tendulkar is that he is still Tendulkar 20 years on.

Sachin Tendular is an all-time great. I like the Indian in him besides the cricketing genius - the humility, the maturity and helpfulness
It wasn't that much of an achievement. Even I could score a century on the flat Indian pitch so catered for towards batsmen. It's almost a non challenge for batsmen vs bowler.

He scored a double against SAffie bowling attack (which is one of finest these days), while only one SAffie batsmen could scored a century against Indian bowling attack on same pitch. Give the guy credit where its due.
^^erm cos South Africans only play in India once every 4-5 years.
Everyone in cricket knows how batsmen friendly India make their pitches cos of the fact they haven't produced a single world class seam bowler since Kapil Dev. That's not even me saying that as a Pakistani fan, that's a fact. In fact it used to piss me of that Pakistan didn't produce pitches(when cricket was played in Pakistan)to suit their strengths the way other teams do.
^ wait a minute, so SA batsmen can’t take advantage of ‘batsmen friendly’ pitches? 
no becos Tendulkar would be more used to playing in Indian conditions

Is it a coincidence that 5 out of 8 top ODI individual scores were made on sub continental pitches? We make phatta pitches, no wonder players from sub continent can't play on seaming/bouncy pitches but thrive on dead wickets.
