Saeed bhai showed why he is one of the best players the world has ever seen.it was a great innings and he deserved the man of the match award but like he himself said he would rather have preferred to see his hundred lead to a win.inshallah we will see saeed bhai for a long time to come because we cannot succeed without him.he is our own little master.

No doubt Saeed played very well.
But did you really think that he deserved Man of the match after so much whacking by Genious Sachin.

Excellent effort by Saeed!

This guy has had numerous of problems man, the poor guy lost his 9 year old daughter, also has had injuries, and hasn’t played for a year but still, he hits his 20th century.

Saeed da man! :k::k::k:

A brilliant cenutry and a mark of a great batsman but too bad his century was overshadowed by Tendulkar's briiliance. All that work going to a waste.

Thats the only thing we could salvage from the match, Saeed's 100...Saeed is the best batsman ever to have played for Pakistan...

he or his fans didn't need man of the match award, we are happy for him and happiness doesn't need a sign hanging on it.. :-)

Hummmmmm
Bachchi go and read above and See how Sherlock was crying about Saeed not getting MoM...

Anwar dedicates ton to daughter.

Pakistan’s Saeed Anwar has decided to dedicate his World Cup century against arch-rivals India to his daughter, Bismah, who died two years ago.
Anwar hit 101 on Saturday before Sachin Tendulkar’s 98 inspired India to win the high-profile encounter by six wickets.

“I am grateful to the Almighty that I scored this hundred. It has to be for Bismah who has always been in my thoughts,” Anwar said on Sunday.

India overcome Pakistan
His four-year-old daughter died in Lahore in August 2001 following a mysterious illness and the loss had a profound effect on the opening batsman.

The 34-year-old grew a beard and began preaching Islam, but his batting form suffered, which prompted his selection for the World Cup to be questioned by the Pakistani media.

“Her death was God’s wish and turning to religion has given me the strength to cope with the tragedy,” said Anwar, who holds the world record for the highest one-day innings of 194, against India in 1997.

“I have tried to balance my life and want to play as long as I am fit to compete in top class cricket.”

Anwar also revealed he wanted to quit cricket after being left out of the tour of South Africa late last year.

“I had almost given up on the game but my close friends and relatives told me to play in the World Cup and here I am,” he said.

Anwar was absent from Pakistan’s opening clash against Australia after sustaining an elbow injury when he was hit in the nets by a rising ball from fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar.

He scored 23, 29 and 25 in the next three games before returning to form against his favourite Indian bowling attack.

“Playing against India brings out the best in me,” said Anwar, who completed 2000 runs in 50 one-day games against the Indians.

“It was very disappointing to lose the game. Hopefully the next time I score runs, Pakistan wins.”

Great ining by a wonderful person.

he proved that hez not over yet!
Saeed Anwar played a great innings:k:
:jhanda:

i dont think tendulkar deserved the man of the match award as much as saeed bhai did because of all the factors and all the events that led up to that innings for saeed bhai.

but thats purel an emotional view.

on a cricketing viewpoint, tendulkar deserved the mon award because his team won the game and he contributed to it.

Saeed Bhai's innings will live in our memory - just like all his other wonderful innings and inshallah he will have many more man of the match awards to come in the future

Not only Sachin's inning was more exciting and more in pressure than Saeed's but also he had to face a much more dangerous and better attack to score those 98 runs.

Ad.. just to clear this up, we don't 'worship' anyone but Allah.. whatever we have is gifted from Him, and we are only thankful to him, if something happens which doesn’t seem right we believe its for our own good, Allah gave us brain to make good out of something not very pleasant :-) no double standards.. we appreciate 'em who do well, we respect our team no matter what happens if they loose or win as far as they sincerely try. :-)

very well said. saeed bhai's innings was the best of the game and he knows his fans are delighted for him. thats all that matters.

Khala :k:

And We Always Proud of Him Who is Holding a World Record of Most Highest Score In One Day For pakistan. ( Aur Woh bhi Against India  )

the most pathetic thing was ravi shastri's comment that saeed can never play without a runner and he even scored more than half of his 194 with a runner....

and when sachin was limping he was in all praise of "the little master" cuz he was playing even with an injured leg....

manjrekar too was same....

A great great effort by saeed, and the best thing was that he can play far better then that. But, i did agree with Shastri's comment, that Saeed had always been the most unfit cricketer for Pakistan, and has had a tendency to opt for runners, and spends a long time always being off the pitch and having a sub on for him when pakistan is fielding.
Kher, his innings was really great for pakistan, its a shame that nobody could acrry it on, however, Sachin was the man, he took us apart and I felt bad that he didn't get his century.... It was a good match but India deserved their win in the end.

Armughal - I dont remember Shahstri/Manjrekar saying that and I watched the game. However If they did say it - it proves the kind of idiots they are which I have been telling all along.

Btw - how come you forgot Ramiz Raja's comment - 'If Pakistani's cant get Sachin Tendulkar out they should get him injured' - This is the worst comment I have ever heard in my life.
