Perhaps because wicket was spinner friendly and Starc did good being the fast bowler....

also because of starc's effort australia won two games out of three. and bowling fast is much more draining then spinning in that heat and humidity.
usually the winning side gets advantage.
though even my guess would have been ajmal as he was spectacular in the series but i am not surprised if starc got it.
if hafeez or clark or maxwell got it then i would be surprized
