Aurangzeb tried annhilating Hindus by doing so gave rise to Sikh and Maratha militancy which spelled the end of Mughal empire.

Mughals knew that they could only rule India by keeping Hindus on their side. No muslim ruler would have lasted very long if he tried annhilating Hindus ( as you put it).

Coming back to toleration issue Sikh gurus were tortured and killed for practising their religion and for their refusal to convert. There was a price on the head of each and every Sikh as a resulted they had to hide in jungles.

I am not trying to blame anybody but setting the record straight.

really that comes to me as a surprise. mughals needed hindus to be able to rule. so why couldnt hindus rule themselves if they were so powerful.

may be she likes day dreaming. Was it like Muslim rulers were elected as King by local hindus?? Muslim rule in the subcontinent actually started by annihilating the local hindu rulers.
She needs a serious lesson in history, specially the history of subcontinent.

Why is it that among people of subcontinent, it is almost impossible to have a healthy discussion without trashing each other?

The reason of my posting this was wanting to share something which was sent to me by a friend and I really liked what I read.

Okay the bottom line is it is impossible to understand what this statement means, if u don't believe in God to start with! When we feel sick, we go to the docs, they diagnose, but it's God who heals. When people are lying in a coma...battling between life and death, we turn to God! Why? Cuz only HE can give health to someone and everyone. Docs try and apply what they learn over years of hard work and agony. But many of the doctors themselves believe very strongly on God..that's why they often say nowadays, the best you can do is talk to the patient and pray to God for his/her good health. Wake up Please! This is not the dark ages! It's the 22nd century! If u still deny the existence of God, then there is no hope for you in this world.

This is a religion forum...as many of u must have noticed. Those of u who don't believe in Islam or Allah then please start your own thread and u can talk about your own religion there, hinduism, sikhism, or whatever...

Reply: It is so ironic that some people can point fingers at others, but can't look in their own self and see where they are reflecting ignorance on their part. Fun begins when u have difference of opinion, its good to hear from "ignorants" as well, as it adds a lil more spicy taste. What would be the fun if you say one thing & i say wah wah, kia baat hae, then walk away?

Queer : If seeing is believing then the kicker is that which side of the fence will you be. As for me I will try in the life I have been granted by Allah (SWT) to strive to be on the right side of the fence by following the path layed out by Allah(SWT) and his messenger Mohammed SAAW(PBUH).

As for the non-believers, even if Allah(SWT) brought down the moon for them, they will still not believe.

These are strange times my friend. Really sad times too.

Please note that I am not passing any judgements on anyone. Allah is the only and final judge.
