i dont care one way or the other. till his last moments the guy obviously was pretty damn sure he had not done anything wrong. he died believing that he was right. what did killing him accomplish? nada. he should have been forced to work for the iraqi community or something constructive.
He died with the Shahadah on his lips...For me, that is enough proof that he was a Muslim when he died...
...
Don't you wish he had given the same opportunity to those who were murdered by his orders? There is photographic evidence of 2 year olds dying in the lap of their dying fathers.
Those photos have been around since the late 80's when US was supporting Saddam. Did the US provide those chemical weapons? yes. Did Rumsfeld encourage Saddam to kill iranians? Yes. But the fact is it was Saddam who was in charge of the country. Why did he follow the orders blindly?
^^ He was trying to wipe out the shia's and now after Saddam being executed in such a disgraceful manner revenge will be served sweet from the sunni's that will cause a backlash in days to come. America was smart by handing him over to the shia's and having them execute Saddam giving them good reason and support from the surrounding sunnis to bombard Iran and letting the Iraqi's pound it out w/ a blood quenching civil war. As an individual I can clearly see the future of Iraq and sadly it's a sorry picture.
