Firstly - at a time when the PCB needs to do a lot of soul searching and investigation into the Lahore fiasco, this nutcase is busy launching official complaints against Chris Broad. Broad may not have been entirely accurate in his reaction, however he and his colleagues almost died, and they owe their lives to a good portion of luck rather then good security. He was right though, at their hour of need the security failed abismally, and all 14 (yes 14) of the terrorists got away, quite casually. Given the high stress the victims had been through, Butt should have given a more considered rebutal to Broad instead of one based on a personal affront and knee jerk reaction, which in the end discredits the PCB even more. Better still, admitting your fault or staying silent would have been more diplomatic.
Secondly, Butt now makes the rediculous statement that teams could return to Pakistan in 9 months !! How does he know ? Is he living on cloud 9 ? Even if the Pak government were to provide presidential style security to visiting teams, do anyone really believe overseas teams would be willing to visit a country which is perceived as a war zone ? By his comments Butt makes PCB and Pakistan look even more stupid,
Heads have to roll as a result of the Lahore fiasco. Responsibility for security lies at the top. Sack Ijaz Butt now.
