In one of the major TV interviews (City 60, on star news) Imran Khan said that
“Sachin may have 38 centuries(one days) and Inzi has not that much against his name but the fact is that Inziman has played more match winning innings for Pakistan than Sachin has played for India.He (inziman) may have scored 50 s and 60s but all of these innings decide the outcome of the game.I am not taking away anything from Sachin he is a legend of his era but Inziman is a match winner and sachin is not.Be it 1992 world cup or the 2005 INDO PAK series”.
So, guys do you agree with Imran Khan?
Imran also said that Younis Khan has great captainship potentials.And,Inziman is a better captain than Saurav Ganguly , atleast on this particular tour.He praised Rana and Salman Butt.
can't argue with what Imran Khan has said because he's right and it's all very true
in an interview before the 6th ODI for star Imran also said that Dravid and Younis Khan both were not being used properly they both should come at number 3 for their countries because they are both inform and are both 1st down specialists... he said that malik and to a lesser extent dhoni had done fairly well at that place but the possition belongs to dravid and younis and it would be best for both teams to use them there
sachin is (or may I say was) obviously the better batsman but Inzi has always been more of a match winner than Sachin
BTW Sachin seems to have lost his touch..while Inzi still looks in good form
Imran Khan has been saying this about Inzi ever since Inzi arrived on the international scene in 1991/92. While Inzi has not translated his talented into as many centuries as Sachin has, he has certainly been a matchwinner for Pakistan more often than Sachin has been for India. Sachin can and has turned quite a few matches on their head with his bat, but his efforts have not resulted in as many wins because of lack of support from other batsmen/bowlers.

(Test In karachi v Aus, 93/94, Final 92 world cup, Multan Test match v Bang, 4th ODI v Ind, 2005) amd many other... and i think sachin has only played 2 match winning innings 142 v Aus at sharjah, 1998 and 2003 world cup v Pakistan, Dravid has better record than sachin... and i also think Inzamam-ul-haq name is on the top of list where the batsman has been given out doubtfully.
very true and most of the time had those decision not gone against him we would have a different team by now. 96 WC quater final, 99 WC Final are couple i can remember.
Well Sachin is a much better batsman than Inzi can ever be.Sachin will never through away his wicket like Inzi does,by being run out stupidly.He learns from his mistakes quikly,Inzi does not.
U make like to make a comparison between Sachin or Steve Waugh but Inzi i doubt will ever raise himself to that level.
Inzi has been a better batsman since the begining. It can be proved by seeing 2nd innings score of both these batsman. Its true that Tendulkar has a high nubmer of Hudnereds, but we need to keep in mind that he has played several matches as an “OPENER” for the team, whereas Inzi plays ususaly at 2 down or 3 down.
Cheers, Inzi and Lara are the best batsmen of the current lot.
Inzi Inzi Inzi...Sachin is good with his 100 and that's it. How many world cup has he won? Inzi atleast has one and played an important role in it. Big Man all the way!
This debate will continue till the proverbial cows come home. There is huge Sachin following and huge Inzamam following, both will be calling their favorite as the better batsman, one will use stats one will discard stats. Personally I like both of these batsmen, but Inzi gets more of it :k:
i can't understand imran khan. he changes his point of view so qucikly! if you r talking talent wise, inzi and sachin are the same but sachin has applied himself a lot more but inzi has very good composure. hard decision!
I don’t think Imran has changed his view. Imran’s only criticism of Inzamam I remember is that he said Inzamam has not utilised his full potential in batting.
I don’t know about Sachin being a much better batsman…Inzi is probably the best player of fast bowling of his era and the way he plays the ball very late, Sachin would have a hard time duplicating it…
The only reason Sachin has more centuries and runs then Inzi is because of the mere fact that Indians play at least two to three series against the bottom tiered teams every year…They play against Bangers, Zims, Lankans and New Zealanders on a regular basis…and this is done deliberately by their board to give their batters a chance to prop up their averages…And Sachin always manages to maximize every opportunity against the sides like Bangladesh as he did a few months ago, when he scored that 248 not out…against full strength top tiered opposition as was the case against the visiting Aussies last year, he only managed a fifty or two…
On a side note, Imran's views are getting somehwat unreliable because of his political preferences. He saw Imran Nazir in Sharjah and kept raving about him for the next two year without knowing the fact the imran nazir failed for the next seven or eight chances he got. Imran witness one of Taufeeq's innings against Aus and never stopped selectors for criticizing him (he dint watch any other series Taufeeq played in after that). He didnt know that Taufiq and Imran screwed upa nd screwed up big time.
Now recently he saw Salman Butt score a hundred in golden jubilee match against India last year and he praises him in every interview he gives regarding cricket. Fair enough but God Forbid if Salman flops in future series and selectors subsequently drop him, Imran will say that I am surprise why isnt Salman playing.
His eye for the talent is unquestionable but unfortunately and understandably he doesnt follow cricket as frequently now and his views dont show the true picture.
Imran's eye for talent in my opinion is not what it has been made out to be....of all the years he was the helm of Pakistan cricket....the only player of note he discovered was Inzamam.....And contrary to popular belief, it was Miandad who spotted Akram, the first time Imran met Akram was in the Melbourne day nighter against the Indians.....

Best batsman of fast bowler**.my foot. Go compare Inzi and Sachin’s test record in/vs AUS and SA.Do you know Inzi is average 35 and 27 respectively in AUS and SA. Even Sehwag has better record.

India plays more test against Weaker team**..Another stupid remark. Go and check who has played more test against ZIMB ,BANG …You will find it is INZI.Also sachin and Inzi both have score 4 centuries against these teams.
Dude…You slice and dice INZI and SACHIN’s record in any way you will never be able to justify that Inzi is better player than Sachin Except one point, That Inzi won more matches and that is where I agree with most people here. You other reason for sachin’s good record is stupid.Give the credit where it is due.
