Re: Sachin to become MP
While I agree with you, I think becoming a politician requires some skills which we do not have. Best of business leaders have become the worst political leaders. Not to repeat myself, Nandan Nilekani the former CEO of Infosys is struggling with a g*****ose project. Even though the position is non-political it is everybody’s knowledge that he is struggling. While it is easy to belittle politicians, we would have to agree that not everybody can become a true political leader.
Coming back to the topic, Sachin is going to be a pawn to be used by the Congress. Sachin transcends all parties. Initially* people would respect him *. But then it would only be a matter of time before he is subjected to criticism. I am not sure if Sachin handles criticism very well. For God’s sake he was not even good as a captain. He did not have the capability to marshall his eleven team members.
Hence I prefer a system something like they have in the United States ((not ideal but better (less corrupt) than parliamentary system of government IMO)) where the federal cabinet is solidly composed of parey likhey technocrats (specialists in their respective fields) and some politicians
