I don't like the way its draped on the friend, plus the fitting of the sleeves is a bit off.

It looks classier the way Ash has draped it, with the pallu not folded on the shoulder. I think this will look good with the right jewelry

Well, this lady did not have the pallu gathered the entire time. She did have it open for the most part but I couldn't find a photo of her with the open pallu. I loved the embroidery/colours/fabric combination in real life. I know her blouse did not fit her nicely but if worn right it will definitely look very classy. I am no saree expert but this one looked like a piece of art to me when I saw it. My husband loved it too. Do you think it's worth buying?

with proper blouse fitting, and the right jewelry, I think it would look lovely!! as with anything, if the person wearing the sari is confident and carries themselves with class and elegance, then even a potato sack will look spectacular!

Hmm you know what the second one kind of looks like a copy, the kaam doesn't look nice but maybe its just because its not a closeup. Anywhoo i love Aish's saree Id say go for it. The colors are super nice and flattering too.

I agree, the second pic looks like a really bad replica of the Sabyasachi original. Plus, the blouse is not tailored properly & the draping is horrible!

It is an original. The blouse does not fit as well and overall quality of the photo isn't good but I have seen it in person and it is gorgeous. Plus, I have spoken directly with the designer with this lady's reference and it is definitely a pricey saree but I can't get it out of my head.
As for Aishwarya, she can even make a garbage bag look pretty. I am hoping that my husband will buy it for me for our first anniversary :D

soooooo, i did end up getting it … i got it yesterday and finally tried it on today. it is gorgeous. i was wearing a full skirted dress and wore the saree on top of it just to see how it looks. i think if worn right it would look beautiful … here are some photos ( i am not wearing any heels with it and also no petticoat so don’t mind the sloppiness)

the saree which rani mukerjee wore whilst on koffee with karan retails at about $995usd, so im guessing its about 1800usd but thats jus a guess- sabyasachi velvet sarees are really exp!!!
