Re: Sabyasachi/Manish Malhotra
Ritu Kumar’s creation clinched the Best National Costume title at the Miss Universe 2008 peagent. The dress was an exotic laacha-choli featuring ethnic embroidery in orange, gold and green with an underlay of zari work.
So, what do you think makes it so special? I do like the colours but really don’t like the blouse at all.
Re: Sabyasachi/Manish Malhotra
^nothing ... except that it screams india :) ... which then accomplishes the task of it being the national costume ....
^ lol, yup !
i think therez more to India than these tacky blouses! i wonder why dont they go for something classy!
Re: Sabyasachi/Manish Malhotra
does anyone know where sabyasachi clothes are available in karachi ?
Re: Sabyasachi/Manish Malhotra
^ I've only seen a couple of Sari's by him in Ensemble, otherwise I don't think he stocks in Karachi or Pakistan for that matter.
Eww kajol looks too tacky!!! not only she hasn’t threaded her eyebrows but she hasn’t waxed her arms either yuckh!! and yet people say makeup doesn’t do wonders on screen :s
Re: Sabyasachi/Manish Malhotra
thanks for the information ziggy :)
i shall keep that in mind inshallah when i go to pakistan
This is SO true. A couple of my cousins went for Neeta Lulla's bridal and another girl opted for Ritu Kumar's lehnga for her baraat. Those were BEAUTIFUL beyond explanation and traditional and the best part was that the dresses were completely different than what was everyone was wearing in Karachi those days.
They cannot stop praising these designers for their charges, which is considerably low than any big names of Pakistani fashion industry, their friendly attitude and excellent customer service.
^ I love the Sabyasachi designs, loved them b4 knowing who the designer was. Only came to knw his name through the Bridal Pics threads. Love Ritu Kumars anarkalis but not too sure about Manish Malotra.
Anyone know the price ranges for lenghas from Sabyasachi?
Has anyone been to the Ritu Kumar in Karachi?
Re: Sabyasachi/Manish Malhotra
a lot of the elite crowd in Pakistan is mixing/matching indian clothes and pakistani clothes. i hear people are buying indian lehengas from manish, sabyasachi, etc, and then coming back to pakistan and adding kameez's that are more in tune with the pakistani "look," of Bunto, etc. its kind of a good idea if you're trying to get the best of both worlds, and are fond of the indian lehengas and their embroidery.
oh i love them..
