Sabians

I was reading the translation of the Quran Pak and came across this verse:

“Verily, those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and does righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve”
-Surah Baqarah 2:62

Is this another religion… i’ve never heard of them, and do they still exist?

Re: Sabians

They were one of the Abrahamic Religions and are also considered people of the book like Christians and Jews… I believe they still exist in Iraq as Iraq was also Ibrahim:as:'s birth place…

and as for the understanding of the translation, know that ayah talks about those people of the book who followed their prophet in their times… They are still required to follow Muhammad if they are born in the era…

Often times, this ayah is interpreted very wrongly…

Re: Sabians
