But sometimes even simple , so easily accessable things becomes difficult. She had been so busy with her life that never got a dress like that. So I have decided that I am going to make her one on my wedding inshAllah. On my wedding coz she is extremely simple lady n wont ever wear a casual dress like that in any function except its her own daughter's wedding. That too we gals will force her to wear. oh she is too shy .. :)
Or if ur budget allows, send her for Umrah or Hajj this year. :)
Freak coincidence - I took one of those for my chai loving MIL as well on my last trip and she too loves it (obviously not for using though as it's far too special for that now)
Thats really funny, bcos my MIL WOULDN'T USE HERS EITHER! She put it in her display cabinet, lol. I said you should use it, she said no, I don't want to ruin it!

That is a really nice way to treat you MIL, both the dress idea and the Umrah or Hajj idea. It's refreshing to read this thread.

Nice ideas but I don't know her ring or shoe size. Also rings and shoes are very personal in the sense of taste. I once hated the shoes my moms cousin gifted me and painfully wore them to school to show respect when I was little. As for rings, not all rings are pretty to everyone. Its safe not to buy these items. Also, for the person who suggested a hajj package, my hubs and I have just started our life together and it would be waay too expensive for us. Also, my saas has been to hajj many years ago M'A se. I just hope my hubby and I can save up to go one day I'A. Thanks for the suggestions ppl..
Hey carpool, it is nice to see bahus trying sincerely to get along with their saasses these days. Its hard to find but my mama raised no fool..hehe..She instilled respect as well as love for elders in my siblings and I. She taught us well. Also, my relatives try their best to get along with their saas. We don't want to give them respect out of fear but out of LOVE. This whole saas/bahu larai jhaghra and rivalry is something to be found in Indian dramas. Now Paki dramas are incorporating it making it seem more normal when it should not be. I love and miss the legendary dramas of yesteryear where things were better. okay, off topic. I love my saas and will try sincerely finding the good in her and not any fault. She has talked to me many times over the phone and only says nice things to me and reminds me to be happy and well by the grace of Allah. She rarely suggests things but if she does she says them sincerely. I can tell by her choice of words and her voice. Once again, thanks for the suggestions peeps!
