I always wondered what was the wisdom behind this idiom. But now after 8 years of marriage i understand. Saalis are aadhi ghar walis coz women’s thoughts and actions are affected the most by their sisters.

Personally....I listen to what my sisters have to say (because they are older and more experienced then me) but in the end I make my own decisions. My family knows this very well. They say I'm stubborn...truth is...I do what I think is best for me and the people around me...and if what they say is best...then I'll do it...if not.....well u get my point.

I have three sisters too. I listen to what they have to say because I care and their opinion matters to me. However, in the end I do what I think is best. I make sure I look at different POVs so I havent missed anything though.

I have 5 sisters… 2 older and three younger and I live with one of my older married sisters. She does ask for my input in alot of things, and most topics she only asks for my advice to make sure she goes against what im saying anyway cuz she thinks I have bad judgement 
But I have to say whenever she’s in two minds about something, she almost always goes with what I say. I always seek advice from the older two as well. The younger ones simply dont care at this point. Young ones these days, think they know everything :hinna:

yes it is true. our family freind uncle jee is having this same problems right now. his wife has a lot of sisters and when they were distant there marriage was okay but the closer they came and the more time she started spending with her sisters and speak with them. since then she has been demanding him for a divorce and to give her haq or hisa or whatever which includes the house according to her. her sisters are really greedy.
now they are always fighting and he is so helpless now. he doesn't want to leave her. they have 2 kids. one of their daughters is even married. the funny thing is she is the one who sponsered him and he worked so hard for so many years and now they got home car everything and now she wants to leave him after so many years of marriage.
the same thing happened like a decade ago but it got sorted out. since then her sisters said we won't speak to you if you go back to your husband but she did. but now after so many years they started speaking to her again and now the whole thing is happening all over again.
all her sisters divorced their husbands and tried to extort as much as they could from them. they keep telling her that he doesn't deserve her and that she should get what is hers and enjoy her life free from him. his wife is really simple and naive
it is sad. he has asked my parents for help to come over and talk some sense into her.
