PTI biggest point was **‘systematic rigging’ **by PML-N in Election 2013 and in judgement of tribunal not a single line proving this …
what actually comes out that Irregularities mostly by inept staff of election commission
NA-125 will be again for Saad Rafique considering his performance in recent Cantonment Elections (15 wards out of 20) and more importantly how he turned the Railways with Revenue of** Rs. 15 bn** in** FY 2012-2013 (PPPP Govt)** and now in FY 2014-15, it is almost crossing Rs. 34 bn in just 2 years !
Here is a open challenge for all of you … Saad Rafique will win again in NA-125
PMLN’s continuous propaganda about investments may help Saad Rafique, but on Dawn I read that on average 1 person cast 6 votes and difference between PTI and PMLN was about 40k votes, if 1 person casts only 1 vote then it will be challenging for Saad.
It is byeleciton… first people do not come in great number ( with all the hype in NA 246, not even 40% votes were cast)
2ndly, people tends to vote for party in govt.. very rarely they vote for opposition… 3rdly and most importantly, PML-N is going to make it matter of life and death for them.. it is Lahore, so now all the low-income areas are going to get huge projects started or at least announced (by saying how economic corridor road is going to through this Const.) and last no least.. no load-shedding or minimal load-shedding for Lahore till elections…
On the 2nd hand, PTI is going to help/make PML-N wins this fair and square, they have Aleem Khan to do the task… all he may be needing a little favor here and there from SS or Saad Rafique and he’ll make sure that PTI looses this elections.. although much hype will be created.. but i guess, Cantonment local body election will repeat…
3rdly, Saad Rafique will do whatever it takes to get his voters out to vote him in… again..
Well it’s a bye election and sitting governments usually win bye elections. The passion and atmosphere during elections was totally different, thousands travelled from overseas to cast their votes and i don’t think anyone would travel to Pakistan for a bye election.
What would it prove if PMLN wins the election? The rigging stain will still be there and they will be called cheats for years
What if irregularities are also found in other 3 constituencies as well? And please stop calling this incompetence of ROs, as someone said “Un ko kitnay naflon ka sawaab hai rigging kar k”?
He may win again. Actually, I believed he might even retain his seat, as his was the toughest constituency out of the 4 PTI asked for. But regarding your (rather PMLN’s) point that the tribunal did not mention anythign about ‘systematic rigging’, you shoudl really know what the scope of a tribunal is. A tribunal is only meant ot find out if rigging took place or not, and if the election should be nullified or not. Further investigation is not the scope of a tribunal.
Moreover, 15 polling stations were checked, out of which, 7 were foudn to have irregularities. Almost 50%. Do you think ROs randomly decided to ‘be irregular’ simultaneously, in order to benefit Saad Rafique? There was indeed a plan behind that.
The question here was about 2013 elections. It makes little sense to gloat on the potential outcome of the bye-election.
PTI was the party of the moment in 2013. These PMLNers panicked and did the most sophisticatedly organised rigging just to keep PTI completely away from Punjab. Whether they were supposed to win majority or not is debatable, but there is absolutely no doubt that PTI would’ve won enough seats to become a strong opposition, or there would’ve been a hung parliament. But the party who is known for stealing public money through industrial scale corruption couldn’t possibly steal people’s votes. That was the delusion presented by PMLN supporrters.
I pity and laugh at the sheer *jahalat *of those arm chair PTI critics for last two years persistently argued how PTI had no real right and purpose to ask for anti rigging investigation as they weren’t going to win anyway, so it was a pointless battle. Instead of saying let’s just have fair and speedy investigation into this issue to restore people’s trust in the electoral system, they wasted all their energies and passion bashing Imran/PTI and just dismissing and demonising his quest for anti rigging investigation. In their little heads they had made up their mind how PTI was not going to win so who cares if there was rigging by PMLN. What those people don’t realise is that democracy is not just about winning or losing, it’s about establishing a fair system where the sanctity of vote
Words can’t describe how absolutely disgusting and pathetic that attitude was. Those people should be ashamed of themselves. Such jahalat is the enemy of democracy of Pakistan, not street protests!
For two years, a minister was able to enjoy all benefits of such a high profile job from public funds despite having a huge question mark over the legitimacy of his post - who is to blame for such incompetence? Once again, a shame on those people who tirelessly defended delayed investigation out of sheer spite and hatred for PTI.
