SA chief issues Semenya apology

**Athletics South Africa’s (ASA) president Leonard Chuene has apologised for denying knowledge of gender tests conducted on runner Caster Semenya.**ASA is carrying out an inquiry into their handling of the affair and Chuene says his denial of the tests were to protect the 18-year-old’s privacy.

There has been much speculation over the Semenya’s gender since she won the 800m world title last month.

“I felt I was acting in the best interests of Semenya,” said Chuene.
