Hi guys … S5 will be in the market tomorrow. I have an S3 at the moment but I am thinking to upgrade now. I have this phone for a year or so, working fine for me but I am thinking to move to bill play plan and of course I will get a new phone with that too.
Note 3 is doing very well in the market. its just too big but I guess S5 is almost the same size.
what u will recommend out of the 2?

I dont think S5 will be a big step up from S4. There will be some new features but I think S4 will get most of it through software update.
How's your experience with S4? which phone u had before?

I had the S3 before this.
I love my S4. It’s the perfect device for me, and considering it’s rooted and has a custom ROM, it’s the most ultimate experience. If I upgrade, it will be because I have to upgrade to take advantage of what’s cutting edge. How can I be left behind 
but I do want to make the best choice so I like to do my homework.

OK, so a 'stock ROM' is the version of the operating system that comes with your phone when you buy it. A custom ROM is a standalone version of the operating system which has been developed by an Android developer. They take stock ROMs, strip them, modify them, clean them, optimize them etc, and make different kinds so in then end when you install a custom ROM, you have a fully functional device but with less of the clutter and many more modifications that you initially got. You can always go back to factory settings.

I am kind of more conventional person so I would not be doing too much experimentation with the device.
I think I only did once with my first touch screen device which was Galaxy Europa. very basic phone.
Did u do it yourself? any risks?

No not in the IT profession but I've developed an interest in this area. It's not really such a big deal once you have someone to guide you. Stick around here, lots of help available.
There's no risks as such. There's always a way to fix most issues.

Note series is good for consumption (mini- ipad or nexus tablet) and more RAM and features are good, but if only the size wasn't so big. Women get away with having purses but you can only fit so much with keys and change or that chapstick and worry about scatching the phone.

of course u dont keep this kind of phones in shirts ... good old days i used to when nokia was the best phone ...
and I wear dress pant, cant even keep S3 in that, keep it in my jacket

I would still go for note 3 just for the memory being better. In note 3 its 3 GB and in S5 its still 2 GB. SPen and size are extra....

Better, get HTC One M8 or Sony Xperia Z2, cant stand Samsung's plastic and fake leathers, both S5 and Note 3 looks same and their UI is horrendous.

Of course, we are not women who get away with pretty much everything in what to wear to office. I mean can you imagine guys showing up wearing chappas in an office (no, facebook or some tanning salon is not in discussion here..).

As many of you may know, i try to stay with the lastest tech, but I have decided to forgo the Galaxy S5.
Firstly the Note 3 is faster, its got a bigger screen, its got 3gb of memory and its got a pen (that I do use). Theres' nothing in S5 that's enticing me for now. I am lusting for the HTC One M8, but the camera sucks on it so that's a no-no as well. Sticking with Note 3 for now.
It does fit in my pants pockets, my jacket etc. My shirt pockets were bulky with the S4 too, so N3 doesn't bother me. Its like the pocket protector syndrome of the current times :)

I have a note 3 my hubby just got the s5 last week i prefer the note 3 purely for size.... Bigger s definitely better IMO. I dont think i would like a smaller phone ever!!!
