S-Video vs Component vs Composite video

How much difference is there in quality compared to the normal composite? And is component or RGB much better than the S-Video? Pracitcally speaking, i.e…?

practically speaking this should be in Bazaar :)

From Composite to S-Video is a visible difference.. you can tell..

Between S-Video and Component is a tossup.. some do notice the difference if the source is progressive. (some devices can't do 480p over S-Video).

Anything's better than bog-standard composite (except UHF, ick!)

Depends what you're using it for - for movies it's not too big a deal - though a minimum of S-Video is worth having for DVDs - otherwise it'll look a bit blurry especially text.

If you're connecting a computer/games console - RGB is the only way. Anything less is just painful.

There goes for my limited knowledge on the subject!

Well, I am not going to buy anything. Just wanted to know in terms of practical experience with these different standards.

So, its ok to attach both the composite (yellow) as well as S-Video? Or should I take out the yellow one?

the yellow one is useless for actual video application.. BUT it's useful for "Monitor Out" where u can get the on screen menu displays for your device..
