S & P

Sensation and Perception. An average person is governed by both.
But for some folks one can be slightly or extremely (depending on the
**kind of person they are) stronger than the other. Emotions fit somewhere **
in between these two . It’s also a possibility that emotion is
just another name for one of the two, or both. Consciously, unconsciously
or subconsciously they shape us. Has these two affected your life? If yes in
what ways? Do you have a hold on your sensation and perception or
do they control you?

Re: S & P

So no one around here has sensation or perception. How cool.

Re: S & P

bless, il reply.

For me perception is somewhat more significant or stronger as u put it than sensation. Obviously they are both concurrent to emotions, as our emotions play an integral part to how we percive the emotions themselves or factors that contribute to our perception of our emotions.

I did a 3000 word essay on this for second year cognitive psychology, too complicated to explain fully.

How can one control a sensation/perception if it is an emotion?

Re: S & P

Our perception of things is affected by our previous ideas and views about it. Like in an experiment conducted, a person was shown a clip of a white man carrying a blade midst of a crowd and a game of "telephone" was played wherein the information was passed on in a chain of people without viewing the clip again. The last person came up with a totally different scenario where he said a black man was carrying a knife. The misconception of african american people being more violent had affected the perception. Our biases and misconceptions play a huge role in our perception.

How can one control sensation? Perception can be molded by getting rid of yer biases, but sensation?
