Ryanair

Has anyone ever travelled on it? How was the experience?

Yes, from Paris Beauvais (there are Greyhound stations better than that airport) to Girona Spain. Some people had flown to Paris the same morning. Perhaps that is why the flight time was rather late.

Flight left and arrived on time. Ryan-operated connecting buses to Barcelona were waiting.

Refreshments were offered for a price. Seats were not pre-assigned. But then again, I paid like 20€ - so no complaints.

the good thing about ryan air (and similar services) is that its cheap..while the bad thing (if you consider it) is that it generally does not include major destinations on its route. so its always a good idea to have A P l a n when you arrive at your dest. there are some other things too (like the ones which wc mentioned) but i think they are not imp if getting a good deal is one of your main priorities.

there are so many other such services. i am guessing you looked into all of them for the best offer.

Loads of times. It's cheap and cheerful but thankfully the flights are generally short ones so it's bearable.

Make sure you do not have more than 15kg of baggage to checkin - you'll get charged excess wt. Apart from that no problem,on the contrary. Read the terms and conditions before booking and be flexible in your travel dates. Sometimes just 1 day before or after your prefered date can be seriously cheaper.
It flies to major cities, not major airports. So yes, factor in extra surface travel costs and time.

I don´t think I could have gotten it any cheaper.

Linz to London and back for 90 Euro cents.

:-) and the catch is that here you will land at Stansted Airport, which is out of the Greater London, then you will get on to Stansted Express (Ticket will cost you a tenner each). You will get off at Victoria Station (Stansted Express is non Stop service) there you will buy a day travel card (Peak rate if you are arriving b4 9:30 AM) or will hire a cab. You can do the maths here :p

Umer, so traveling Ryanair han?

There is the Red Tickek...Austrian Airline offer till Heathrow of 200 € right now ..

BTW what is the traveling distance from Stansted Airport till London Central?

Hahaha. I knew this would be coming. But for me Stansted is better than any other airport in London, because my cousin lives just 10 minutes drive from there. And of course I won´t be travelling on Stansted Express. :p

200 €? I paid 95 € (including all taxes and charges) for both tickets together (Sana´s and mine). :stuck_out_tongue:

^ Its almost a gift .. like we say "fast geschenkt!"

Yep. The only issue I'm still not sure about is, whether I will park my car at Linz airport or in the city of Linz (near the home of my father´s friend).

Re: Ryanair

I'm travelling with the airline from Luton to Marrakech later this year, this thread is like 5 years old so anyone who has flown with them since and want to update me with their exerience?

Oh wow. A trip down memory lane. :D

Re: Ryanair

Would never fly with them again. Tickets were cheap but once all the taxes were added on, and the charges for checking in luggage (couldn't do carry on luggage due to the 'no liquids' rule) and checking in at the airport then it didn't work out cheaper than flights I have bought to similar destinations with British Airways.

Also, RA don't fly to main cities so you also have to factor in the added cost, hassle and time of forward travel.

On the plus side - planes seem to be quite new and well maintained and run on schedule.

I was a frequent flyer about 4 years ago. It was a blessing as I was a student and flew almost every weekend. The ticket was cheap and I had no problems going to stansted.

This sure was a major drawback but like I said it wasn't heavy on my student pocket so it was alright. I later switched to easyjet cos it flew directly to my destination city.

Re: Ryanair

^ I heart easyjet. Fly to main destinations, tickets cost around the same as RA’s if not cheaper, planes are bigger and you can take an earlier return flight than booked free of chage if there are seats available.

Apparantely RA are going to start charging people to use the toilet soon

(which I wish they would consider doing on flight to pak as I’m always the one sat on the aisle seat next to people with tiny bladders :hehe:)

Re: Ryanair

Yeah I heard of that too...I think they charge you £1 per visit to the toilet. It's a good way of making moneyas they cut back costs on the ticket fare.

You’ve got to be kidding me:

A charge for using the toilet on a plane?

Re: Ryanair

Yeah it's true. I don't think they have started charging yet but in a couple of years they will be.
