The Russian Defense Ministry is preparing to send warships to the Arabian Sea, the Nezavisimaya Gazeta newspaper reports.

According to it, Russian ships will arrive to the Arabian Sea in late April. The official aim of the campaign is to carry out military and naval military exercises there, “according to an agreement with India”. However, it seems that this explanation does not reveal the true goals of the campaign.

their nuclear subs won't be needed. If they really want to do a favor, then sell some more kornet anti-tank guided missiles, and some shoulder fired AAMs. That will change the face of this war..

Interesting move, and this coming just as we hear that Russian envoys were attacked in Baghdad...

What will they do? Nuke Baghdad? They're just having exercises with our friendly neighbor India.

Huh? They are nuclear "powered" submarines.

Ok, I thought that meant they have nuclear weapons. Either way, I don't see them as a factor.

Dont know about that but they are capable of launching a nuclear weapon from those subs.

Only five nations have those capability;USA,UK,France,Russia and China.

Yes, but the term "Nuclear Submarine" refers to a nuclear powered submarine.

If this can be taken as anything other than face value it is a symbolic reminder to America that they are still a world player and wouldn't be happy if left out of post-war Iraq. It's not a threat, just an unspoken message.
