Re: Russian company unveils MIG-35 at Aero-India in Banglore

Roadrunner, when i ask for a link...give a link!...J-10 also has a quadruplex fly by wire control system as per wikipedia...i am not finding any other genuine source. and it doesn't have TV engines there.

Let him take his time to google around.

Btw....Just wanted to know if MIG 35 and J-10 have similiar roles to play?
I Guess, if procured, Mig-35 may be used by Navy or in a formation with Su-MKI playing the role of escort in actual combat, same as Mig-29 did during Kargil with Mirage as attacker during that time??

Re: Russian company unveils MIG-35 at Aero-India in Banglore

I am not familiar with regard to what exact roles they play. Mig-35 is not for navy. it is for air-force. Another variant of mig-29 called Mig-29KUB is for navy which will come to india(around 20 of them)....some say it is better than MKI, but as such i have not seen its specifications.

I've noticed this about roadrunner on a couple other threads too.. He passes statements of facts and then when asked to provide references.. he ignores the request and goes on to make more unreferenced unbacked claims..

Re: Russian company unveils MIG-35 at Aero-India in Banglore

A couple of comments:

1) great video, and a great pilot.

2) This looks like an f-16 TomCat with thrust vectoring.

3) Very unusual flight attitudes.

On the practical side:

1) Stealth beats everything.

2) One AWACS and whatever maneuverability advantage this has is gone.

3) Human beings=9Gs. Missiles=30Gs. Missiles win.

4) All other things being equal, the more hours in type a pilot has the more he will prevail. This thing looks like a hanger queen, hard to keep flying and expensive to train on.

5) It will take a pilot 15 years of training to achieve what this test pilot has done.

6) Some of these maneuvers are so dangerous and impractical that they will bend up a lot of expensive planes.

7) In most air to air engagements now, the pilots never see their adversary. A lot of this maneuverability is a complete waste.

Great airshow planes can have little or no impact on defending a country. Fun to watch though.

Re: Russian company unveils MIG-35 at Aero-India in Banglore

true......but it meets indias requirements. none of our neighbours have aircrafts having stealth features. so this works for us.

Besides, will US sell F-22 if india asks?.....i dont think so. so we will have to go in for these aircrafts only.
