Russia could sell Su-35 to "most reliable friend of China"

If the news is correct, this will be BIG step because as far as I remember, Pakistan and Russia (or USSR) never had relations to the level of selling/buying advance arms b/w them. I guess this also means that Putin is realizing that India is now sitting in Lap of USA.

Why would PAF buy an aircraft already flown and honed on by IAF? Plus, isn't the flanker series twin engine while PAF usually flies single engine easy to maintain a/c?

Su30 MKI may be all that, but IAF has to spend a pretty penny to maintain that aircraft. Russian aircraft might be above china especially in engine technology and they could be rough and tough like an Ak47, but they are expensive to maintain. There is a saying that a MiG could fly from a dirt field while the F15 would need a sparkling runway to operate.

Re: Russia could sell Su-35 to "most reliable friend of China"

Not going to happen.

It would not be a bad idea to have couple of Su27, Su24, Mig27 etc in PAF arsenal so that PAF can learn better about how to counter IAF by practicing with these planes but overall single Engine are good enough to do the role that PAK most likely will need fighters for. Twin engines come with huge cost of running them and maintaining them. So I do not see it happening.

Moscow: Russia's Rostec state corporation says it expects to sign a document, for the construction of a gas pipeline in Pakistan by the end of July.

"Yes, we are preparing a document to be signed, according to preliminary estimates, in late July," a Rostec spokesman told a Russian news agency.

Earlier in the day, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), a Eurasian security bloc that is about to accept Pakistan as its full member.

Sharif said Islamabad had filled in all paperwork on the pipeline construction and expected Russia to ink the deal shortly.
Last December, Rostec announced that its subsidiary, RT Global Resources, was going to construct oil and liquefied natural gas pipelines and terminals in Pakistan. It estimated the total cost of the project package at** $3 billion.**
