Rumpus in Rawalpindi Bar function Updated at: 1250 PST, Monday, May 05, 2008 RAWALPINDI: Scuffles erupted between lawyers in a function of Rawalpindi Bar Association on Monday, during which cameramen of different private channel were also manhandled.
According to Geo News, media men boycotted the coverage of the function after some of the cameramen were beaten by the lawyers to prevent them from coverage of the rumpus.
However, media persons ended the boycott after assurance by the officials of the district bar that membership of those lawyers involved in the incident would be cancelled.
A lawyer, according to Black’s Law Dictionary, is "a person learned in the law; as an attorney, counsel or solicitor; a person licensed* to practice law."[1] Law is the system of rules of conduct established by the government of a society to maintain stability and justice. Working as a lawyer represents the practical application of legal theory and knowledge to solve real problems** or to advance the interests of those who retain (i.e., hire) lawyers for legal services*
