i've only read gold isn't allowed for men (side note, but along with silk). do you have a link or can you reference where it states only silver is allowed or why titanium, platinum, etc aren't allowed for men?? these metals are very different from gold in terms of physical properties and characteristics and such. they also aren't primarily for women...so i'm curious :)!

i know they can wear silver. man CAN WEAR pure silver rings with a stone or gem in it.

Aslamualaikum

Muslim men are allowed to wear only 1 silver ring which has to weigh less than 4.5 mashay (sorry not sure how many grams that would be) with one stone in it. There is no limit to the weight of the stone. :) and ladies can wear as many rings as they want. :):):)

***Men are only allowed to wear 'silver rings' & it has to be of a certian weight. Gold isn't allowed in any case. I did not find any ruling on any other metal.

Does anyone have any info regarding the allowed weight?***

I think silver ring with precious gems is the best for mens. Precious gems and stones are allowed in islam and it has very traditional and ritual value in muslims. Neelam, blue sappahire , rubby, emerald are the most precious and beautiful stones.

hmphhhhhhh this thread got me thinkin!! i wanted to give a engraved ring to my hubby on our wedding. We wanted to exchange rings like Christians do.

if money is not the issue here, you can get him white gold if he is not wanting a "gold" ring :)

Apparently white gold is not allowed either as it is gold. With platinum we thought that was fine, but even that some jewellers said it wasn't? In the end we went for a silver ring with a diamond. I don't think it is cheap if that is what he prefers, thats what my parents thinking was, although they did pay way way more for the diamond than the actual ring.

shehnaiheels masallah your knowledge is impacable,thanks for letting me know it is haram,i use to wear gold chain which i gave to my wife after marriage ALLAH forgive me, i dont know it is not permissible in islam.

Men aren't allowed to where gold, whether it be white, yellow rose.

Also the fact that the jeweler took a yellow gold ring and "coloured" it white should have made you realise that it's still gold at the end of the day.
