Question: What is the Islaamic ruling concerning wearing high-heeled shoes?

Response: The least that can be said is that it is disliked.

First, it is a kind of deception because it makes the woman look taller than she is.

Second, it is dangerous for the woman because it is easy to fall in them.

Third, it has negative health consequences as the doctors have concluded.

I always thougth it was related to the ayah in Surah Nisa (I think this was the surah) that when walking, a female shouldn't wear "ornaments" that make noise and attract attention towards herself. I always connected the "ornaments" to high-heeled, clicking shoes.

I was referring to the payal as the "ornament".

I think its anything (worn on the feet in this case) that makes noise and in return attracts attention to the woman.
