Not sure if you're asking what we prefer or what our experience was; here's what my experience was:
Wearing outfit bought by you or by the In laws? Inlaws **
Jewel toned outfit (any dark colour, red, pink, orange, purple) or lighter shades including gold, white, tan?top and dupatta were a soft olive green with gold/red accents; the gharara is a brilliant red **
High updo or loose hair by the side? ** Up
*Traditional jhoomer or fancy hair accessory? * I wore my nani's jhoomer. All her bahus wore it and now so far all her granddaughters have as well (I started the granddaughter tradition) **
Polki jewellery or diamond jewellery? ** Gold and ruby set **
Big nath or a nose pin? ** nose pin **
One big ring or few small rings on each finger? ** few small rings )forgot my engagement ring tho! **
Gold bangles or Glass bangles? ** some gold bangles from my jahez, a kara from my bari, and metal bangles from India to match the outfit from my bari **
Elaborate, intricate mehndi till elbows or simple designs on hands? ** small designs on hands **
Anklets on both feet or just one? I can't remember!
