Re: Rudaali
So the tradition is still being followed in Taiwan and other far eat countries. I particularly didn’t observe this being followed in Pakistan.
The question arises, why from centuries people want to have some mourner to mourn over their bodies? Heard that in old times, dacoits used to marry young girls just for the sake of getting a mourner.
Re: Rudaali
Haven’t you watched Gulzar’s Rudaali… Dil hoom hoom kare ghabrae…

Does importance matter to deceased one? Its for those who remained behind to show something about the attachment with the deceased one.
Does number of people in funeral procession say something about the personality of the deceased?
Re: Rudaali
Then watch it. Its a classic. Amjad Khan’s last movie where he played the role of person for whom Rudali was invited.

Probably they don't have that much affection with the to-be deceased / deceased person to shed tear on their deaths. Its purchasing tears which you can't shed
