Re: RSS/Atom Reader softwares
I’ve been noticing a lot of RSS/Atom stuff online these days. Could someone shed some light as to what exactly it’s all about? ![]()
Re: RSS/Atom Reader softwares
I use rssreader: Its good :k:
Here is a list of feeds to give you a kick start.
http://www.rssreader.com/rssfeeds.htm
And short intro for Sadiyha:
RSS and Atom files provide news updates from a website in a simple form for your computer. You read these files in a program called an aggregator, which collects news from various websites and provides it to you in a simple form.
Just an example: (If RSS was enabled on GS)
Then you’d get a notification in your RSS reader of every new thread of reply that was fone on GS. Then you can browse through the headers and click on the one’s you want to read.
Re: RSS/Atom Reader softwares
What sort of notification? E-mail?
Re: RSS/Atom Reader softwares
Sadiyah, let me tell u in ‘english’.
Say, u r a frequent visitor of few blogs, GS, & yahoo news. and u need to open all these web sites in browsers. Alternatively, u can put their feeds in ur RSS/Atim reader software (aggregator) this software will give u a popup msg to notify u whenever any of these sites have been updated, and u dont need to open ur browser & go read whats new, instead this software will do it for u, u can read new stuff right there.

Re: RSS/Atom Reader softwares
I use Abilon, its free and very lightweight. They have a more robust version, “Active Refresh”, but i didn’t like it. Maybe the newer version might be different. Here’s the link:
RSS Bandit looks like Abilon, I just checked. But on that page I did find the Event2Rss application. Could come in very handy ![]()
