**Mumbai: **If industry rumours are to be believed, Ranbir Kapoor has bagged a whooping deal of Rs50 crore from UTV Motion Pictures.
A source says, “UTV is very happy with the way Ranbir’s Wake Up Sid fared at the box office. His forthcoming movie *Rajneeti *is also with UTV and the producers have taken a liking to this young actor whom they dub as the Next Big Thing in Bollywood. So they have offered him a three-film deal worth Rs50 crore which he has apparently signed.”
The informer goes on to add, “No other newcomer, having done just a handful of movies in this decade has been able to bag such a huge deal. This indicates how good a box office commodity Ranbir has become.”
While UTV officials deny about the amount, sources say Ranbir also got help from his new mentor Karan Johar in cracking the deal.
“Karan and UTV are on a great footing as the production company is distributing Dharma’s films now. Wake Up Sid was Karan’s movie. It seems UTV had discussed about the deal with Karan while making the film and obviously he showered praises on Ranbir. Once the movie became a hit, things just fell into place for Ranbir,” says the source.
Since Ranbir is shooting in the US, he could not be contacted for his comment.
