Rs3 billion embezzled in BISP under PPP govt, claims Auditor General

Auditor General of Pakistan Akhtar Buland Rana claimed on Sunday that the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), initiated by the last government, had seen irregularities worth Rs3 billion under the Pakistan People’s Party government, Radio Pakistan on Sunday.
Rana said in an interview that recoveries worth Rs57 billion had been made during the last two years.
He mentioned that irregularities amounting to Rs14 billion were discovered in the universal fund of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority.
According to Rana, the identification of mega financial scams like the Rental Power Plants‚ Pakistan Steel Mills‚ Haj corruption‚ NICL and EOBI scams should be credited to the office of Auditor General.
In response to a question, Rana said mal-administration and corruption in institutions had rendered the State spineless. He said corruption could be overcome if the administrative structure of these institutions was improved.

Do you understand between irregularities and misappropriation? If not, get acquinted with the knowledge and see what is the difference. As retard to BISP, it has supported a lots of poor women, families in past and present government is rightly continuing this program which is helping in thousands of poor families to stand on their feet and get meaningful employment. Such kinds of assistance programs are even present in rich developed countries. Why this has created so much pain?

A reference forwarded by the president to the prime minister’s office against the Auditor General of Pakistan remains pending for a year.
Before taking Akhtar Buland Rana’s oath, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had sought clarifications from the president as a string of allegations were levelled against the Auditor General of Pakistan.
Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) reportedly accused Rana of sexual harassment. He has also been blamed for corruption, against which the Minister of State for Information, Syed Samsam Bukhari, filed a reference that was supported by irrefutable documentary evidence.
Allegations against Rana
Rana allegedly secured multiple passports illegally, including a Canadian passport and has travelled abroad many times without permission of the competent authorities.
According to a letter of Director General ISI, which is enclosed with the reference, Rana used three Pakistani and one Canadian passport and two CNICs for travelling abroad from April 2004 to December 2009. Out of fifteen entries five were on the Canadian passport.
He also obtained Canadian nationality without informing the department or obtaining NoC from the government.
Rana was also accused of sexually harassing a female colleague. Recently, the AGP was caught withdrawing a monthly car allowance of Rs118,000 besides availing other benefits.

No I did not, because it was irrelevant to character of this person. How PPP "rangi ho hagee?. I am sure two bureaucrats must still be present in their seats and there is no bar to present government to pursue charges against this person.
