Re: Rs 90,000 cr in Padmanabhaswamy temple. What next?
That particular state should declare independence from India, they have enough to start and run new country i.e. to feed a new breed of corrupt local politicians in the newly formed country... if they don't act now, they can say good bye to this treasure as it would be distributed among the corrupt politicians through out the country... and state may end of having tiny-whinny share to loot if any is left
Re: Rs 90,000 cr in Padmanabhaswamy temple. What next?
@ Hanibal
What it the garuntee that the new govt will not be curroupt, Old wine in new bottle.
Just becuase they found wealth does not mean that they should ask for Independence.
Re: Rs 90,000 cr in Padmanabhaswamy temple. What next?
^^ read it again, i am only talking about poor corrupt politicians of the that state...
Re: Rs 90,000 cr in Padmanabhaswamy temple. What next?
i think the Indians should DIG UP the whole country...they will find triollions, zillions and gazillions and call it a** "LALA LAND" ***:D*
Re: Rs 90,000 cr in Padmanabhaswamy temple. What next?
For govt its christmas. just couple of month ago sai baba died and left $40,000 crore behind him. and now this.
but they aint gonna get nothing, even though the king has donated the money to be used for charity purpose it will be sealed back again and left alone.
btw there is already a thread for it in all views.
Re: Rs 90,000 cr in Padmanabhaswamy temple. What next?
What can you do? Either Indians can make some kind a religious trust and make them in-charge of the money or just deposit in Central Bank of India.
Re: Rs 90,000 cr in Padmanabhaswamy temple. What next?
Actually if it was just gold bullion then govt could have used it, but govt cannot sell antiques. Most prolly most of it will be sealed back, some of it will be put in museum and they will make money off it.
When nijam of hyderabad's treasure was found it was also worth fortune. but by the time most of his family shifted to turkey, they wanted to take their treasure back to turkey but govt didnt let them since it was property of people from which they collected it.
govt bought the treasure from the nijams at market rate and put it in the museum.
till date all his treasure either sits in banks or museum but nothing is sold or taken out of the country.
Re: Rs 90,000 cr in Padmanabhaswamy temple. What next?
Didn't Hyderabad accede to Pakistan? we should have nationalized the state we don't have and claimed the treasure. Just for fun.

No they initially wanted to be independent but then India smacked some sense into them :D
Back on the subject.. wt f wtf ! people wasting their money donating to temples when there is poverty everywhere
wtf wtf
Re: Rs 90,000 cr in Padmanabhaswamy temple. What next?
^^
this are treasure of travancore kingdom
it was very rich and powerful kingdom, infact none couldn't occupy this place until british came, usually in ancient times all the treasures are stored in temple.
king of travancore gifted entire treasure vault to the main deity, they still maintain all the temple mangement.
btw it seems some of the jewels recovered goes back to gupta time :)

people died cause of poverty, lack of medical and other simple reasons, whereas Pandits, Ulema (In Iran), and Priests sit on treasure worth billions of dollars, these Maha-Goons however have same qualities of getting people fight and die on petty issues...
but we never learn, so lets start fighting.... who is there!!!
Re: Rs 90,000 cr in Padmanabhaswamy temple. What next?
The "treasure" was MOSTLY probably illegitimately looted from poor peasants by a rich royal family with the means and hired muscle. In theory, it belongs to the people and should go back into the state/region imho.

how is that very different from people in Pakistan donating money to built more and more mosques? Again and again I have seen rural (not so sure about urban) communities coming together to built mosques - but not anything like drains/streets/water infrastructure for their community.

so you want to write a new version of history?
the treasure partly belongs to the king and partly it was donated by people . even now people donate huge amounts and kilos of gold in temples.
at the moment it only belongs to the museum.

i agree its disgusting.. what a waste of time and money... i can understand the old indian kingdoms constructing huge awesome mandirs.. fk they were rich and prosperous... but now there is sooo much poverty.. this temple money should go to a local charity fund or to the govt strictly to build infrastructure.. even is 10% is stolen by corrupt politicians...
these temples churches and mosques are nothing but businesses.. generating sales by selling delusion... and they also get extra tax rebates from the govt..

nice try, hazrat ma'ab ji. The words "probably" and the phrase imho (see google) are a CAUTIOUS imply that it is an inference/assertion/opinion, not a HARD and BLIND assumption like this:
the treasure partly belongs to the king and partly it was donated by people . even now people donate huge amounts and kilos of gold in temples. at the moment it only belongs to the museum.
unless the king himself went out and mined the gold and/or magically gave birth to it, it's lunacy to assume, it was gotten by the king politely by asking people etc.
Re: Rs 90,000 cr in Padmanabhaswamy temple. What next?
^^ King made money the way kings make money.
We are not talking about donation from last ten years, it is the money collected in over a thousand year.
India used to be called "Sone ki chiriya" remember?
