**The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) on Friday summoned
Minhajul Quran International (MQI) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on February 5,
and sought explanation from him for violating the oath he took while
seeking asylum, Express News reported.

RCMP said that Qadri violated the oath stating that he was not allowed to enter the country he had sought asylum from.

According to *Express News *correspondent Shakeel Anjum, Abdul
Shakoor Qadri, otherwise known as Tahir Qadri, had sought asylum from
Canada in 2008, fearing threats to his life after he met with the Danish
cartoonist responsible for making blasphemous caricatures of Prophet
Muhammad (pbuh).

Qadri, through his lawyer Mendel Green, had requested that he was
receiving death threats from Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan,
Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) and Sipah-e-Sahaba.

On October 17, 2009, his asylum application was accepted, while he was issued the Canadian passport about six months back.

**The MQI chief has also been receiving welfare funds from the Canadian government, citing health issues.

Qadri, who led a 5-day long march in Islamabad which concluded Thursday evening, is currently present in Pakistan.

**I had already pointed out this in an other main thread regarding his procession. He will be either deported or jailed if he failed to convince Canadian Authorities. " na idhar ke rahay na udhar ke". His stupidity may cause a great set back to a number of Pakistani applicants waiting for their immigration to Canada. This may also create more mistrust and hatred against Pakistani Canadian Citizens living in Canada. How a paki mullah can be so stupid? "hum to sanam dhoobay hain tumhain bhi lay dhoobaingay"

People with such stupid mentality should not come to Canada. For them it is better for them to stay in Pakistan where they belong.

He has wasted a few slots of asylums in Canada, and will create issues for the next genuine asylum seekers there. Another thing has become clear that he was not sponsored by any foreign power as opposed to the conspiracy theories rife in the country.

**Use common sense. No need of any link or proof. Quadri had lied to Canadian authorities before taking asylum in Canada. He again violated his oath of Canadian Citizenship by creating a chaos in foreign country and saying openly that he opted Canadian citizenship due to medical grounds. Canadian authorities are not like muk muka paki authorities. For his interest, it is better for him to remain in Pakistan where he belongs. The damage he has caused to applicants waiting for migrating to Canada and Pakistani Canadians living in Canada is enormous. Tell me who in Canada will believe any Paki living in Canada?

People who used him and played a very dirty game were knocked out by Zardari.

She is right. This is a badly crafted dumb piece of news, which some mainstream media has picked up without verifying. The bad thing about our media is, that when they are caught with their pants down, they never come forward to own up their missteps. Same is true for some of our members here.

Dr. Qadri, though Im no fan of his, got his Canadian immigration via the qualified professional category, NOT via asylum. He showed his immigration documents in a press conference the other day.

Those asking for common sense should use some common sense themselves. Anyone applying for political asylum is barred from entering the said country, whereas Dr. Qadri, after getting his immigration in the late 90s, served as a parliamentarian under Musharraf. If he was on asylum, the canadians would have picked on that as well.
