Is there a norm for roti size? My mum’s rotis are quite big, lets say roughly the size of the base on a pot you may cook chawal in…for eid…lol thats the ebst description i can give sorry! whereas me and my sister, we are currently learning to make rotiyan, and ours are considerably smaller which requires us to make lots and lots of rotiyan. i just want to know if theres a normal size? how do you all make them size wise? and is size very important?
Re: Roti Question
My guess is that normal size sits somewhere between 7 to 9 inches dia, size of smaller dinner plate
Re: Roti Question
Varies from household to household.......some people like them big n heavy..some like them small n light.....
Re: Roti Question
Small, light, even.
But hey, as long as its cooked, it's all good.
Re: Roti Question
large rotis look nice and delish ... basically when you get practiced , you can bailan the roti to a smal plate size and then you know when you do the bish bash with your hands , thats what helps the roti grow out perfectly even and large .. and cooks really well ... I love large , thin roti's alot ...
however , please be comfortable wth the size that gives you the gol roti's ...
Re: Roti Question
yes, please be comfy with the size of your roti or you may OD on the achaar to compensate.
Re: Roti Question
