I had the same problem when I started making roti long time ago and I used to cut the corners after putting it on Tawwa to give it a round shape..lol…maybe you can try the same
Who cares what it looks like, as long as texture is good and tastes good. :) I used to make roti look like all sorts of crazy things, but at least it was edible and tasted good. Forget shape :)
Work on the paira. Get it really smooth and round especially from the bottom where the loose ends gather. Once u make the pairas let them rest for 5 mins and then flatten it out with ur hands first and stretch it with ur fingers and thumb. Then roll it out. practice makes one perfect.
After flatting it out with bailan, I put a dinner plate over the aata and cut it in PERFET round shape with knife to everyone's surprise and it fell really good when you eat that PERFER round roti ;)
^ faryat this is a good one..i wish i could make a one.
How do you do that..i think the trick is to apply force over belan while rolling at the corners of roti so that corners may become flat and get match with rest of the shape…i guess:confused:

not a bad idea..but it would take a lot of time dont you think so
Thanks d6c. I tried and it worked :biggthumb but it took me approx 2 mins per roti to give the clean edgeless shape. I made 5 rotis and i celebrated it.
I have heard about roti-maker. I will never prefer it but does it really work.
