Roti controversy

Whenever i have to make a roti or paratha of my own…i get everything except a round shape. :naraz:

I try my best with belan and all but successfully fails every time. Last time when i tried to make a roti the result was the Australian map :frusty:

Now this damn roti has made me quite angry:grumpy: and i have decided to take the matter sereously. Can anybody help me out of this !

Re: Roti controversy

I had the same problem when I started making roti long time ago and I used to cut the corners after putting it on Tawwa to give it a round shape..lol…maybe you can try the same :hehe:

Re: Roti controversy

lol myn cums in weired shape too but then i start shaping it into round square or the shape on an object lol but im onli 14 yet

Re: Roti controversy

"damn roti ,",,,,bohat buree baat,,yeh he roti kai lyee loug kitnee mehnat kertay hain aur app yeh words use ker rahy hain ,,bohat afssos ki baat hai

Re: Roti controversy

Who cares what it looks like, as long as texture is good and tastes good. :) I used to make roti look like all sorts of crazy things, but at least it was edible and tasted good. Forget shape :)

Re: Roti controversy

Work on the paira. Get it really smooth and round especially from the bottom where the loose ends gather. Once u make the pairas let them rest for 5 mins and then flatten it out with ur hands first and stretch it with ur fingers and thumb. Then roll it out. practice makes one perfect.

Re: Roti controversy

Use my tick:

After flatting it out with bailan, I put a dinner plate over the aata and cut it in PERFET round shape with knife to everyone's surprise and it fell really good when you eat that PERFER round roti ;)

Re: Roti controversy

use a big cookie cutter

Re: Roti controversy

I am really sorry :( . Woh actually gussey mein nikal gaya. I will really care for this next time. Thanks for pointing.

Re: Roti controversy

hey good idea..no body even can think that we have eliminated the real problem (i.e random corners)

Re: Roti controversy

but how to shape it round with a belan...is 14 ur age..really !

Re: Roti controversy

Is my roti “round” enuff?:bummer: or do i still need to work on it

Re: Roti controversy

^ faryat this is a good one..i wish i could make a one.
How do you do that..i think the trick is to apply force over belan while rolling at the corners of roti so that corners may become flat and get match with rest of the shape…i guess:confused:

Re: Roti controversy

not a bad idea..but it would take a lot of time dont you think so

Re: Roti controversy

I’ll give it some tries. but 5 mins on every roti is more than needed femme fetale or is there any shortcut:clown:

Re: Roti controversy

i gave up making haath ki rotiyan a long time ago…too messy!
but that cutting the corner idea is good…i shall give that some thought :hmmm:

Re: Roti controversy

Not at all you do everything the same way as you normally do. Putting the plate on flattened aata and cutting with knife hardly ads 10-15 sec per roti

Re: Roti controversy

^^ or just use one of those big cookie cutters, you won’t even have to use the plate and the knife :bummer:

Re: Roti controversy

so which alternative you opted when u left making haatk ki rotiyan..:aq:

Re: Roti controversy

Thanks d6c. I tried and it worked :biggthumb but it took me approx 2 mins per roti to give the clean edgeless shape. I made 5 rotis and i celebrated it. :yummy:

I have heard about roti-maker. I will never prefer it but does it really work.:konfused:
