the biggest thing is your GPA, GMAT, work experience, after that they look at stength of your undergrad school, recommendations, activities etc.

ya i understand the GPA and GMAT thing.....but is there something I can do such as extra curricular activities now to make up for it????

well community activities that would be considered interesting by admissions committee and then work experience is what can boost your chances.

It just has to be large enough and your role in it has to be prominent enough.
obviously regional coordinator for katrina relief is bigger than events chair at the local masjid.
etc
