I have mine rooted and modded, I did it the first week I had the phone, just like my previous S2.
On this one I had been using the Blazer ROM (currently 1.6). CM10 came out a couple of weeks ago. I just upgraded to the 7/30 version but its still not cutting it. I"m having issues with the camera not focusing. And I can’t be without that. So will probably flash back to Blazer for now.
I don’t know if I should start rooting training here as there are all kinds of public here, some with a lot of knowledge and others with none). A little bit of knowledge can kill devices. I’d be happy to help. For each phone the techniques and ROMs are different, so you gotta watch out. My S3 is on the Sprint network. XDA-Developers is a good site for reading up on the background.
