I have the “unstable” CM10 going. You can’t get a more vanilla Android. I think i’m going to go back to Blazer with ICS. Some apps are not working and the Butter part is not in yet. For the most part its ok thou.
As far as launchers I have used Nova, but didn’t have a good experience with Apex. I have also used ADW which came with a couple of ROMs. Pretty functional.
Take the lead bro :k: … I’ll join you in about two weeks time once my returns period is up. I think we all would appreciate if you document your experience and provide tips here for those of us who’d like to follow suit.
I have mine rooted and modded, I did it the first week I had the phone, just like my previous S2.
On this one I had been using the Blazer ROM (currently 1.6). CM10 came out a couple of weeks ago. I just upgraded to the 7/30 version but its still not cutting it. I"m having issues with the camera not focusing. And I can’t be without that. So will probably flash back to Blazer for now.
I don’t know if I should start rooting training here as there are all kinds of public here, some with a lot of knowledge and others with none). A little bit of knowledge can kill devices. I’d be happy to help. For each phone the techniques and ROMs are different, so you gotta watch out. My S3 is on the Sprint network. XDA-Developers is a good site for reading up on the background. This site has a good tutorial: How to root the Samsung Galaxy S3 SPH-L710
man..I used to be big in roms when I had my galaxy S1. This is the one thing I dont like about iphones that you cant customize it. I miss rooting my phone. :-(
