We have separate leases, so rent and utilities is split evenly. I could ask her to pay me back for food, but I have a feeling she’ll call her parents and make me talk to them. I once brought up that we should turn off the lights when not in use and not waste electricity because our utilities bill was high (I wasn’t even in the apartment much, but still had to pay the high bill). The girl freaked out and called her parents. Her parents then had a talk with me, saying I shouldn’t accuse their daughter of the high bill or make her pay my portion (I didn’t even tell the girl to pay my part!!).
