^ It contains honey and rose petals. These two ingredients are healthy enough. I dont care what else it includes.
This off of a Rooh Afza bottle we have at home:
Total Weight 25.363 fl. oz
Sugar 24 oz
Distillate of Fragrant Screw pine 0.811 fl. oz.
Distillate of Rose 0.501 fl. oz
citric acid
food color Red 40
Sodium Benzoate
The only thing listed in the nutritional facts which is there is carbohydrate 8% of daily allowance, nothing else of nutritional value is in it.
A shot of sugar gives you instant energy anyway.
There is no honey in it , no rose petals it has rose water yes.
I tried to find on mine but there is not much mentioned. Thank you for the detailed info.

Because in USA no food product can be sold without mentioning the ingredients and nutritional values. They have to reveal ingredients because people here have all kind of food allergies . So the secret of Rooh Afza is out , thanks to USDA.
Accha bhala hum Rooh Afza ka maza lay rahay thay, aap nay aakur mirchain daal di ussmay!
^ Hehe.... I also felt the same way!
There is nothing wrong with using it as a beverage , as a topping on ice cream , to add flavor to your food. I do have Rooh Afza at my home and my family enjoys it in many ways.
Unfortunately I cannot as I am diabetic.
The claims made at Rooh Afza and it s fans are outrageous I wanted to give them a dose of reality.
So go and enjoy one more glass of Rooh Afza ka sharbat.
The fact that Rooh Afza was considered Rohh Afzaa and Raahat-e-Jan was
1) Sugar >>> gives you instant rush
2) Rose water >> gives you fresh feeling
3) Cold water >> cools you down
These things make sense in a warm country like Pakistan where people need to cool down and where Rose scent gives you feeling of freshness (more of a psychological thing in our culture), but cannot replace Vitamin B12 and Ginseng which are real ingredients of an energy drink.
I have also tried Safi. It makes you feel happier. Good for depression, purifies blood and regulates circulation, flashes the system. Its bitter taste also cures high levels of blood sugar. But it is very 'dry/heaty' in nature. Can kill your sleep. So alot of juices must be taken if you're taking Safi.
**NEVER take Safi.
**It's loaded with toxic levels of arsenic...it's actually been banned in multiple countrie like Canada and UAE after studies found that it contains more than 40 times the maximum amount allowable in drugs.
Just read this now. I cant recall of any such conditions of arsenic poisoning during the time I took it. But I guess it was because I did not take it for longer than 15 days.
But thanks for the info as I'll be careful in the future.
NEVER take Safi.

WOw...lol i didnt know that rooh-afza was used as a topping too. Rooh Afza is indeed very popular in Pakistan but somehow it doesnt suit me :(. Though it really takes care of the thirst especially in Summer but it often gives me stomach ache somehow.
