oh ok…Taksim is the cosmopolitan/new town area, removed from the tourist areas, but from what I’ve read and heard, the furnicular will connect you to the tram that stops in old
town. The elections will be taking place around the time time you’re going, I don’t know if you’ve heard or read up on the situation but the politicos protests have all been going on in Taksim Square. It all seems to be pretty peaceful and not affecting the tourism though.
