romantic gateaway in UK in end of FEB?

Right, so me and hubby are planning to have a sort of cosy/romantic weekend away in the UK between 13th of Feb and 2nd march.

The weather isnt great so it makes our holiday a bit difficult to organize.

We were thinking of Lake District but this is too similar to Murree, where we went for our first break away in Pakistan.

We are looking for a somehow warmer place..countryside ..where its not too cold to go out and enjoy the landscape.

We will be travelling from London so please suggest good trains as long as hotels.

Thank you

Marble arch caves

OP, countryside tends to be colder than the capital btw

Re: romantic gateaway in UK in end of FEB?

Come to Bournemouth! Sunny and not a chance of snow in Feb. Lots to explore including New Forest, Isle of Wight, Purbeck, Poole, etc etc.
Lulworth Cove is beautiful in itself, haha, come to think of it I haven't been to any of these places myself, :( Stuck at work!!

Re: romantic gateaway in UK in end of FEB?

Good luck in finding a warmer place in UK. You should consider Portugal.

Re: romantic gateaway in UK in end of FEB?

Bournemouth is one of the sandy beach I like and the water is clean too.

I went to Lulworth and Weymouth in summer, it was heaven, felt like I was in Greece. :lippy:

Re: romantic gateaway in UK in end of FEB?

My words, nowhere is warmer here in Winter.

Spain is the best and cheap too at the moment, friends went to Barcelona over the weekend, they loved it.

Re: romantic gateaway in UK in end of FEB?

There’s not been much rain in my part of the woods and no snowfall at all. Usually I wake up to beautiful sunny mornings. The days are shorter but if you could get there in the mroning/afternoon there are some amazingly beautiful places to explore here.

Re: romantic gateaway in UK in end of FEB?

Days are a bit longer now.. it gets dark around 5pm rather than 4ish like December and of course they'll be longer still in February..

No snow around London at the moment.. cold but no snow like up north..

Re: romantic gateaway in UK in end of FEB?

Scottish Highlands...Bliss! (but cold)
