Speculations was rife that Ram Gopal Varma wanted Ranbir Kapoor for a romantic film he was planning but now, according to reports, it seems as though he is ready to sign the young star for a film which is not only a romance but also an adventure and a comedy!
Ramu wants to remake the 1984 Hollywood superhit ‘Romancing The Stone’ with Ranbir, a film which that has all the elements of a Bollywood masala flick. Lucky Kapoor will get to essay the role of the swashbuckling opportunist, Jack Colton, played by Michael Douglas in the original.
Confirming the news, RGV told a tabloid, “We have met and ‘Romancing The Stone’ was one of the ideas that we exchanged. Ranbir seemed enthusiastic about it. But it won’t exactly be ‘Romancing The Stone’. Only the core of its idea will be taken.”
Well, after seeing Ranbir’s crazy antics in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, no doubt he is the perfect choice for playing Michael Douglas’s role in the remake.
